This Privacy Policy explains how DFN Studio ("Yoma", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Yoma mobile application, this website, and the waitlist (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

Yoma is operated by DFN Studio, a company registered in Cameroon. For any privacy question, contact us at: dave@briandave.dev.

2. Information we collect

a) Information you provide directly: • Account info: full name, email address, phone number (with country code), password / OTP codes. • Role and profile: whether you are a House Seeker or Property Owner; reason for becoming an Owner; profile photo. • Listings (Owners only): property title, description, address, city, neighborhood, GPS coordinates, price (FCFA), surface area, number of rooms, amenities, photos, videos (up to 60 seconds). • Search preferences: target city, neighborhoods, property type, budget range, urgency level. • Messages: content of conversations between Seekers and Owners exchanged through our in-app chat. • Reports & moderation: reasons and descriptions you submit when reporting a listing or user. • Waitlist data: phone number, name (optional), role, city, preferred language, consent timestamp. b) Information collected automatically: • Device information: device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone. • Usage data: screens viewed, listings liked/saved, search filters used, session duration. • Approximate or precise location (with your permission), used to show nearby listings and pin properties on the map. • Network info: IP address, ISP. c) Information from third parties: • Google Sign-In (if you choose to sign in with Google): name, email, profile picture. • Google Maps: address autocomplete, geocoding, place details.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to: • Create and operate your account, verify Owners, and prevent fraud. • Display listings and match Seekers to relevant properties. • Power the AI Emergency Search Assistant, which automatically sends a first message to matched Owners on your behalf when you submit an emergency request. • Process bookings and reservations. • Enable in-app messaging between Seekers and Owners. • Send transactional notifications (OTP codes, message alerts, listing approval status, urgent request updates) by SMS, email, or push notification. • Send marketing communications about the Yoma launch (only if you have given consent on the waitlist). • Improve the Service, debug issues, and analyze usage trends. • Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

5. Who we share information with

• Other users: when you publish a listing or send a message, the relevant content is visible to the recipient and, for listings, to all users. • Service providers acting on our behalf: cloud hosting, push-notification services, SMS/email providers, Google Maps, analytics. These providers are bound by contract to use your data only for the purposes we specify. • Authorities: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety. • Business transfers: if Yoma is merged, acquired, or sold, your data may be transferred under equivalent protections. We do NOT sell your personal data.

6. How long we keep your data

• Account data: as long as your account is active, plus up to 24 months after deactivation, unless a longer period is required by law. • Listings: until you delete them or your account is closed. • Messages: up to 24 months after the last activity in the conversation. • Waitlist data: until launch + 12 months, unless you unsubscribe earlier. • Logs and analytics: up to 12 months.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email us at dave@briandave.dev. We respond within 30 days. You can also: • Edit your profile in the app's Settings. • Deactivate your account from "Account Settings → Deactivate Account". • Unsubscribe from waitlist emails/SMS using the link or STOP keyword in any message.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and isolated cloud infrastructure to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work hard to safeguard your information.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside Cameroon (for example, on cloud servers in Europe or the United States). When this happens, we use safeguards consistent with applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email/SMS.
